Very bread seems to exist here. This is for television short stories of Stephen King made in American television in 2006 to eight episodes. In DVD format are found separated into 3 separate disks. 3 episodes have lots a and b while the last 2 are in the c part of the package. Here are the names of the episodes in series along with brief descriptions.

Battleground: a professional performer murdering the head of a toy company. But later attacked by soldiers who were sent in a package from a stranger.

Crouch End: A newly wed American couple travels to London to experience the ultimate nightmare in Crouch End district, which seems to act as a gateway to other worlds.

Umney's Last Case: a disillusioned by his life writer position changes with the detective novels of trying to find the life it deserves.

The End of the Whole Mess: The ambitious experiment two brothers to wipe out violence from the world has unexpectedly unpleasant side effects and one tells the drama in his personal camera.

The Road Virus Heads North: A horror writer buys a strange table that changes its content and intervene in the tragic developments of the real world.

The Fifth Quarter: A released convict gets embroiled in the hunt for a hidden treasure conflicting with criminals overnight risking his freedom and the safety of his family.

Autopsy Room Four: A paralyzed man experiencing the drama of the autopsy of the helpless crying that isn't dead!

You Know They Got a Hell of a Band: A couple that travels in the American province is trapped in a small town in which dwell dead rock stars.

Horror Trivia

Note that you don't come all the episodes of the DVD from the collection "Nightmares and Dreamscapes". "The Road Virus Heads North" and "Autopsy Room Four" come from the collection of stories "Everything's" while the Eventual "Battleground" from the collection "Night Shift".

The first observation that easily make someone respect generally directing and producing. It is obvious that the "Nightmares and Dreamscapes" looks "harmless" as that is intended for a wide audience of mainstream television and not so much for sophisticated lovers of cult horror and "banned" filmikwn challenges. In other words seen easily and from smaller age viewers without the fear of parents for unsuitable spectacles and extreme scenes. As usually happens in anthologies, the quality of stories shows ups and downs with some stories to be clearly superior to others. This transition can be found even within a story.

A characteristic example is the inaugural story (Battleground) with William Hurt in the role of a ruthless hitman. While originally built fully a suggestive and dark atmosphere with absolute silence to be her ally (in episode no sound nor a Word!), since the performer receives a parcel with the soldiers, torn down all the earlier atmospheric structure. The images where the soldiers attack the performer show incredibly ridiculous for current data. More excited about a 12-year-old child who will try to imitate the soldiers playing with neropistolo rather than scare the average lover of horror scene. Maybe blame the poor filming but anyway the downward movement of this episode is striking.

Something similar happens in the episode "Autopsy Room Four". While the keynote with the living corpse in the morgue is genuinely scary, some structural elements the mockery. Such are e.g. the unrealistic irrelevance of doctors, the irritating "silent» voice of paralytic man trying desperately to give signs of life to the doctors and the same cause that made him look like a corpse. Here of course responsibility bears and Stephen King himself so let's not charge problems only to the Director. Note that sometimes the "Nightmares and Dreamscapes" does not remain strictly in horror contexts but explores and other trails. The episode "The Fifth Quarter" for example is not related to terror. This is a fun one, but other climate gangster story with gunplay, acting as a dissonance in a set of stories aimed at horror audience.

The best stories are undoubtedly the "Last Case" and Umney's "The End of the Whole Mess". On first watching an amazing William H. Macy gives recitals comic as well as dramatic interpretation in a totally surreal storytelling with a tragic ending, while in another the Ron Livingston recording with sincerity and emotion (flawlessly) drama in which he has reached in a post-apocalyptic world in some way. Further down the scale of assessment are just nice stories "Crouch End" and "The Road Virus Heads North". The first is more suspenseful, nice photo while doing and mention in labkraftiani Cthulhu mythology. Pity that some failed effects (reminiscent of the bad "Sleepwalkers") the stain.

The most typical story will surely considered the last where top giants of rock-prod-roll and rock in general have a field day. Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix and other rock stars heaven used with slightly clumsy manner in order to develop a climate of terror and despair. The chabalediariki, ' Party ' disposal does not allow many of course so let's keep only the originality.

In conclusion the "Nightmares and Dreamscapes" is an uneven effort contrived with lighthearted style that avoids extremes. Satisfying but not in full despite the originality of her stories. Certainly it is not a collection of meaningless since even moderate stories have sporadic interest. However, the lack of coherence and the few trouble spots leave visible signs of decisively influencing the final result.

Nightmares And Dreamscapes

Movie Review Highlights
  • Two creepy monsters that appear towards the end of the 2nd history and references to the Cthulhu mythology.
  • The delightful interpretation of Macy in the 3rd story.
  • The dramatic climate of 4 post apocalyptic history and aesthetics.
  • The rock stars in the last story. Even within horror story is delectable waking pleasant memories in old rockers.

Rich material with a wide variety of issues that if you keep the interest, at least two excellent stories, some good and original ideas here and there.

Annoying ups and downs on the quality of the stories, some naive ideas, at least one outside the climate story, a few modest effects.

Like the package "Nightmares and Dreamscapes" is certainly appealing, satisfying and don't say anything rude staff. Despite the abundance of material, the end result leaves a bittersweet flavor that maybe leans a little more toward the sweet.
