13 weeks. 25 suspects. 1 killer.
No, it is not at all misleading title given for this series. So just have described the American Harper's Island that aired on the CBS network 2008-2009 keeping viewers in suspense until the end. May consist of just a circle of thirteen episodes sarantaleptwn, but in this limited space the work of Ari Schlossberg (screenwriter of Hide and Seek) managed to impress the audience with an anguished, mysterious and frightening story.
Events happening at Harper Island, somewhere near the border of USA and Canada. There 7 years ago a serial killer named John Wakefield had killed many people including the wife of the local sheriff. The serial is said to have shot dead by the sheriff who after the tragic incident sent the young daughter, Abby, to stay in LA and growing up with relatives. On the occasion of the forthcoming wedding of her best friend, Abby returns for the first time after seven years on the island along with her friends and some relatives.
However, a dark fate awaits the guests at the wedding. A one fall victim of a ruthless killer in soylatsarei Island hiding well his identity. The murders together with complementary elements allude strongly to John Wakefield, the killer of the past. The Wakefield returned for second round of bloodshed? Does anyone else trying to emulate? Did something else happen? Whatever happens one thing is certain: everyone can be suspected but also victims in this blood-soaked tangle of mystery and horror.
None of the actors did not know whether and when they will die until a day before getting the script in his hands. But the information on who and in what episode dies the assumed executive producer Karim Zreik before finally the actors read the script. For this reason the Zreik acquired the nickname "the Assassin" (The Assassin).
As you can see the series follows patterns works whodunit character stemming from the mystery Queen Agatha Christie. Indeed, uncertainty and aproblepsimotita are fundamental materials that make the series very interesting. But we're not talking about a cheap whodunit or copy books and insipid films but for a very dignified televised effort interspersed with convincing teen horror elements and scattered fresh ideas that make you the sympathiseis. The combination of youthful air and deep mystery proves successful.
The horror element is also very intense mainly through the multitude of inventive and heinous murders. Diamelismoi, stabbings, hangings, psarontoyfekies, beheadings of propellers, shots and varied still culling methods included in the bloody Island "Harper's menu". Suffice it to mention that in every episode at least one person dies and a few are saying! The terror of ample bodycount complemented with high doses of suspense that manifests in Chase scenes, creepy footstep sounds and shocking revelations coming in following episodes.
Certainly the "Harper's Island" is no masterpiece. Has his problems as many horror series. Yes, we encounter some rough stuff in scenario events. Yes, some ideas during the progression of the plot is not as successful or implausible. Yes, the characters too many and possibly the series could say conclusively what he intended and with 10 episodes instead of 13. Yes, very few actors are not as talented as their colleagues in more commercial series.
But the total product offering the "Harper's Island" remains quality, perhaps more than we expected and despite initial misgivings that I eventually enjoyed the series. Give yourself a chance. If you like the series that combine horror and mystery, this here is one of the best proposals of the past decade.

Well-made mystery, rich body count with some spectacular slayings, intense suspense in many episodes, nice cast.
Few interpretations is not so good, overloading the series with parapanisioys characters, occasional defects in the scenario.
