You can only defeat it when you believe.
Supernatural thriller based on true events (;) Obviously these claims are not easily convince all viewers, nevertheless in ' The Rite ' stated that it relies – not very strictly-on real experiences of American priest Gary Thomas when he was sent for training in Rome. The experiences of the first recorded in the book "The Rite: The Making of a Modern Exorcist" by Matt Bagglio and then passed to the movie.
But let any doubts concerning the facts and let us focus on the film. The young Michael Kovak begins to lose his faith in spite of his studies in theology. Feels he can't respond to the Office of priest. But perseverance of Professor and an accident that shocked him persuading Michael to attend courses in Italy with exorcisms prospect to strengthen his faith. There the skeptic Michael will undergo a peculiar Jesuit priest, Lucas, who performs exorcisms. The two men cooperate but Michael finds it hard to be convinced of the validity of exorcisms. The game merges and a journalist who for their own reasons wants to cover journalistic efforts of Lucas and Michael. When things start to shove the Michael will test his faith and will be faced with demonic powers beyond any logic.
Himself filmmaker Mikael Hafstrom said that he attended in exorcisms in the context of the preparation of film. Not allowed to monitor what is happening, only to hear he could outside the door.
The film generally did not take and the best reviews and the topic with which it deals can easily be seen by many as outdated and not very scary anymore. Although never scare me or tarakoynoysan especially horror movies with possessed and exorcisms, I can't say that I was disappointed by the "The Rite". On the contrary, I think that within the class is a good movie despite its cliche that inevitably contains. As the story is well-written, tight, with a beginning and an end. The scenes of supernatural placed correctly into the plot and never felt mpoychtismenos by daytes nor penchant for derision, as happens in many films with paranormal procheirostimenes performances. The film periodically gets dramatic tees through unpleasant events without hearing a irritatingly klapsiariki.
It also raises the issue of the test of faith without rambling or seems extreme. So this picture of balance made me to like. In actors and contributed to this report. Best of all interpretative standing – unsurprisingly – Anthony Hopkins, in a quite fitting for this role, without going badly and the rest. Can ' The Rite ' is not the second ' Exorcist ' – and nor do I believe that had this aspiration – but definitely genuine and worthy "child" of the great heritage of the historical work of William Friedkin.
- The exorcism attempts. It is generally kaloskinothetimenes without excesses and irrational extremes.
- The scary mule with red eyes that see the horror of the protagonist.

Excellent interpretation by Anthony Hopkins, tightly knit story, successful integration of the metaphysical elements in the context of history, dynamic scaling to the finale with tension, suspense and horror enough.
The usual clichés found in supernatural horror films and especially those that deal with exorcisms.
