Among the most notable films of the early era of the great Canadian Director David Cronenberg is undoubtedly the "Scanners" of 1981. A quirky film that combines horror and sci-fi with emphasis on genetic mutations and novel scientific experiments – favorite recipes i.e. directorial Cronenberg's menu.
Scanners are people with telepathic and tilekinitikes properties whose charisma is simultaneously a curse after displaying great difficulty adapting to society. The secret security systems company and supply weapons scanners recruits ConSek for its own purposes. In a press conference with the purpose to demonstrate the harmlessness of scanners a tragic event happens. The company's scanner that showed the subject is killed by a volunteer named Revoc. Panic prevails and the POPs Revoc killing a few more members of the company. As it turns out the Revok is head of a sinister organisation that intends to dominate the world recruiting and the company opposes scanners ConSek. The Dr. Paul Ruth, a member of the company ConSek and specialist in scanners program educates a talented and quite more powerful scanner than others with the name Vale and sends him to find Revok malicious and his organization and to destroy him.
The infamous scene with the blowing of the head toward the beginning took place by placing in a fake head of latex dog food and rabbit livers and then shooting the head from behind with a shotgun.
Without it the most spectacular case we've seen (although certainly interesting), the "Scanners" keeps the viewer's interest in bulk. The scenario is generally valued though the film makes obvious bellies at intervals and somewhere you feel that is more complicated than it should be. In the interpretive part of things is not the best but certainly isn't crap. What is left is your particular results of forces of the scanners as they occur and they can be quite fatal and bloody, depending on the scanner's fault.
Hardly anyone forgets the terrible and bloody head blowing up the House of a victim of Revoc to start-up in a scene that leaves shocked with mouth wide open. The killer worked in cases effects and manifestation of forces of the scanners keep the film at decent levels. A film that tries to avoid showing shallow but aspires to challenge your conscience about the degree of tolerance of the society towards him who is "different". Now how does is another matter but this is certainly not the main mission of the ' Scanners ' but to entertain the viewer with action, violence and synwmosiologiko character.
Definitely not the best film of Cronenberg but from the most special and effective after they left and some remarkable heritage if we consider the two sequel that followed and his influence on later science fiction/horror film ' Scanner Cop ' of 1994.
- The bloody explosion of the head of a victim of evil Revoc scanner towards the beginning of the film. Tip: do not eat anything at that moment!
- The monumental duel between Vale and Revoc accompanied by eye-catching effects and great suspense.

Some very violent and gory scenes that are shocking, earnest attempt to create ithikokoinwnikwn concerns, rich action, original story, beautifully crafted special effects.
A few modest interpretations, sporadic dips in the scenario.
