There are some horror films are noted for their historical significance and not so much for their originality. The case is now recognized and ' Saw ' of James Wan and Leigh Whannell that agitated the waters there in 2004. It is not a completely innovative film since it is obvious the influence of legendary "Seven" (1995) on top of something that is not denied either the screenwriter and one of the main protagonists of the "Saw" Leigh Whannell. As in ' Seven ' so here two detectives are on the trail of a psychopathic killer who kills his victims (or better the lets kill) following a sickening existential philosophy.
However, the "Saw" is differentiated into key aspects of joint axis. Essential difference is the recounting by hand of the candidate in which victims are given the opportunity to avoid the planned their deaths if they follow specific instructions but with hefty price tag. In other words the plot develops in two Board of police investigation and that of trapped victims who are trying to understand what has happened and how they can escape. Also "Saw" introduced an unprecedented incentive on behalf of manic, this estimate of the value of life through acquaintance with the threat of death. At the same time enriched the horror cinema with a new, longer classic figure "evil", this unworldly Billy. The "Doll" Billy-the inspiration whose Wan owes rather in a similar eerie sided doll that appears in "Deep Red" (1975) by Dario Argento-serves to broadcast recorded messages to the candidate victims or survivors of brutal tests imposed on them by the maniac nicknamed Jigsaw.
The case-which obviously most know-focuses on two strangers apparently men without remembering details are shackled by one foot in a small room. Among them is lying face down the corpse of a man bearing severe trauma to the head and a pistol in his hand. Gradually emerge several hints within the area while providing useful information for the future survival of both men as recorded messages on cassette tapes, hidden spots on walls etc. At the same time a paranoid family has captured one of the two men. How far can the two men to gain their freedom? What sacrifices they are willing to do to stay alive?
18 days it took to complete the filming of "Saw". Originally the film was released labeled NC-17, was unsuitable for ages under 18. Later the Director removed some violent scenes in order to get the R rating.
The "Saw" studies the limits of human endurance when found in a desperately difficult situation. Monitor the shift of media-loving citizen to make animal feared pan to avoid the Hunter and the end. The saying ' your death my life "takes root in fast rule during the torturous struggle of prospective victims. In the cast stands out the presence of Cary Elwes (robin Hood: Men in Tights, The Princess Bride, etc) and Danny Glover – the classic Gibson's partner in the "lethal weapon"-while the role of Jigsaw covered flawlessly from Tony Bell that has been slow to make the big cinematic blast (better late than never of course). The end result justified expectations of authors after the ' Saw ' across the broad appreciation of fans of horror scene has made huge success and box office.
And predictably to inseminate the numerous sequels that despite the swelling violence and gore, does not have the freshness of the first part being irritatingly standard and analithofani. Besides the many later horror films sequels used the recipe of "Saw" with mixed results. Despite the minimum scenario excesses, "Saw" gave a makeover at horror cinema that seemed to pass a new period of uncertainty and lack of ideas with the new slasherakia-series that came from the "Scream" in 1996 and the standard ghost stories that flooded us. The shocking finale was one of the most original of the era. Undoubtedly is one of the best horror/thriller of the decade 2000-2009.
- The form of Billy, one of the anatrichiastikoteres dolls in the scene of horror.
- The agonizing scene where Amanda tries to remove the mechanism that will kommatiaze the jaw.
- The masterly finale that has it all: aproblepsimotita, tension, violence, suspense, paranoia …

Minimum excesses in the scenario.
