The first directorial attempt of aspiring filmmaker James Watkins would be impressive. Drawing on ideas and inspiration from "The Last House on the Left" (1972) and "Funny Games" (1997) the British filmmaker creates an exploitation movie logic with sophisticated technical level and raw realism at the same time. The mixture is proved explosive.
The Steve and Jenny is a cheerful couple who decides to escape for weekend from the rhythms of the city making camping beside a beautiful Lake in a lush forest. Their stay is interrupted too soon by a group of anaidwn and kakomathimenwn pitsirikiwn originally harass them with harmless methods (loud music, insults etc), but then with more and proklitikoteres actions. Fatal collision occurs and the pair becomes the target group of children. A stressful and merciless chase begins in the forest in which all are ready for everything and no one hesitates even to kill each other in the most brutal way.
Starting from the actors we must pay tribute to all the participants that with the amazing interpretations contribute to shaping a realistic, you face in history that does not lose the seriousness of nowhere. The children's behavior shocks, causes and puzzling. "But it is possible to be both obnoxious and spoiled?" you wonder. Yet it is, judging by the problem parents that even for a moment appear in flux. Because as our society accepts, the parenting reflects primarily the work of their parents, the first responsible for moral education and guidance. This great message contained in "Eden Lake" along with other less critical.
$ 3,983,987 was earned on revenues "Eden Lake" from showing in cinemas worldwide.
There is also the domain of violence which is abundant and sometimes shocking especially when it comes from people who don't wait! From the moment you start kryftokynigito the Woods movie den s ' lets get breath moving with a relentless tempo and offering many scenes anthology that satisfy even the most discerning horror audience. One of the most memorable portrays Jenny tries to make as painless as possible in the death of a child who performed passing the message that as angry and brutal may have become a man, still retains a bit of humanity in the inside. And after all this we reach the finale which is even more shocking than the previous happenings, provoking the ire of spectators and proving how much finally touched us. The Watkins closes well ideally a dynamic, exciting and tight film leaving promises big things. Don't miss it!
- Before you even start well the violence we find a sequences with growing anguish when Steve is "break" somehow the House of one of the children and tries to escape from his alcoholic father-host.
- The extremely brutal torture sequences of Steve from the kids where includes a bloody cut.
- The scene of Jenny presses a sharp peg and then tries to get rid of her leg … a particularly strenuous effort.
- The incredibly challenging end to the point they're at stake to get you the viewer the law into your hands to complete the film. Hehe …

High tension and suspense, frequent and gruesome violence, serious performances, rapid pace, the fact that it touches and making the viewer's psyche as few horror films the manage.
Maybe some more sensitive viewers to hate the finale, but I truly believe that they are wrong.
