You scream. You die.
Can the top horror film of Malaysian origin Director James Wan to be the now legendary ' Saw ', however there are still a few interesting cinematic works to his credit that deserve our attention. One of these is the ' Dead Silence ' of 2007 who inexplicably buried by most critics, perhaps due to the inevitable comparisons with the "Saw".
The case revolves around Jamie Ashen who after the brutal murder of his wife under mysterious circumstances returned to his homeland to investigate a local legend that seems to relate to the loss of his beloved. The legend concerns a dead eggastrimytho, freaky Mary Shaw. But what may have been his wife? And what role plays the terrifying eggastrimythoy doll that someone unknown sender sent in his apartment shortly before murdered his wife? The investigation hides dramatic surprises for Jamie who must confront and suspicion of detective who follows him at every step since Jamie is the number one suspect for the murder of his wife …
In the film appears fleeting and ' Billy ', the famous doll from the films "Saw". But we have to be very observant to find it!
In case there is the obvious clichés of the legend of a small community that continues to haunt the people of today. Residents of Jamie's mother does not want to talk about the strange old lady who once entertained the audience of the city with the eccentric performances. From then on the rollout of the intricate situation seem arduous mystery is characterized by some surprises without being completely free of clichés and (mercifully few) scenario-bangs. What is left of the ' Dead Silence '? Basically it is a genuinely frightening film that causes shivers in many ways. In principle the basic doll takes the protagonist in his apartment and he carries in his hometown after. The look of the doll itself is eerie and especially in cases where shaking her eyes becomes even more frightening.
Then we have the spirit of dead Mary Shaw with its gruesome appearance and the callous ways of action. Terrifying visage has and his father as hero from the great Bob Gunton (The Shawshank Redemption, Ace Ventura). With his pale face and his narration about the past of Mary Shaw enhances the atmosphere of mystery. In addition there are some gruesome scenes of murders where the victims are presented with xerizwmeni tongue, mouth wide open and petrified gaze, tough pictures that can freeze the blood of the beholder. Finally, the film has an appropriately haunting music, dark photo and an unexpectedly shocking finale that closes this wonderfully hearty James Wan's work.
If there's a major complaint from the ' Dead Silence ' that does not focus on clichés that were reported but the choice of the protagonist (Ryan Kwanten) who shows "colorless" and "low" for the leading role assigned to it. Definitely a better choice for this role would improve the overall image of the film. Even so, however, the "Dead Silence" has the necessary features to maintain our interest and to scare us.
- The import gruesome murder of the wife of the protagonist who puts us well on the climate of the film, our proϊdeazontas for dynamic cont.
- The terrifying face of Mary Shaw who looks the protagonist behind a curtain in one of the more gruesome scenes of the play.
- The atrocious murder of a resident who helps the protagonist and set in a dark basement room. The despair that is created in the victim's face and enhanced by the dark claustrophobic environment. There's no way out!
- The shocking finale that leaves us with his mouth open!

Terrifying dolls, scary atmosphere, well-written mystery, some shocking scenes of murders, many gruesome scenes generally, eerie soundtrack perfectly matching the nightmarish image of the film.
The aneyros protagonist is the Achilles heel of "Dead Silence". Minimum scenario-rough pass without significantly compromising the film.
