The perfect summer rental for the last vacation you'll ever take.
The Marian and Ben, along with their son David, going to the countryside to see a mansion who intend to rent for their summer vacation. Arriving at the mansion, know the two brothers, owners who seem somewhat curious. Marian falls in love with the House and insists to rent immediately but Ben has some reservations, especially when he learns about the very low rent of the House, that should take care of the House themselves and that with them will stay and the owners mother 85chroni. Despite his misgivings, Ben recedes in Marian's desire and eventually move into the mansion with their son and their aunt Elizabeth. But slowly begin to noticing changes not only to themselves but also at home, which it seems dramatically affects tenants.
If before the "Burnt Offerings" have you seen ' Shine ' then you will find eerie similarities. Essentially the ' Shine ' is a copy of "Burnt Offerings". The latter is the 1973 novel by Robert Marasco while the ' glow ' is of 1977 by my beloved Stephen King. Watching the film I was disappointed incredibly from the copy made by the second. Of course the "Burnt Offerings" is not less than in any of the "Radiance". On the other hand, is a masterly film, with excellent photography, incredible interpretations, imposing and terrifying atmosphere.
Is one of the favorite films of Stephen King. The realized after all!!!!
The Oliver Reed is excellent in the role of aggressive father, Karen Black stands out in the role of fragile and conscientious hostess of the House while the one who steals the show is the one and only Betty Davis as the energitikotati and amiable aunt. You will not see blood strange sounds neither gallons nor shadows. In a unique way, the film manages to shudders without showing anything.
Although the movie is two hours, does belly and not tired. Tied up script, excellent direction and an eerie atmosphere captures. The scenes where the home affects the behavior of the occupants is uniquely given. The influence upon the father with the use of incredibly terrible rank of a chauffeur, to divine where starts losing its erstwhile activity and begins to doubt anymore and for memory and the mother begins to sink more and more at home I captured and banded with great intensity. The theme of ' live ' House is chiliopaigmeno but in this case it is a masterpiece.
