New television series based on "Phantom of the Opera"

And a news story that interested friends of classic horror, paliomoditikoy and not only. According to information from the website of the Deadline, the American television network NBC will move on to a new series based on the classic story of "Phantom of the Opera" (1911) by Gaston Leroux.

The series will keep Paris as place of evolution of events but we'll ship in the 20th century instead of the 19th as it happens in the original novel.

For the writing of the screenplay has hired the Director of the horror comedy "Otis" (2008) Tony Krantz and for directing the Frenchman Jean-Pierre Jeunet, known for the classic romantic comedy "Amelie" (2001). The two of them will be executive producers of the series along with Colin Callender of Entertainment Playground. The production will be done from the Los Angeles Studios in Endemol.
