The truth will spread.
Play God. Pay The Price.
Playing God has a new price.
Claustrophobic and dramatic atmosphere, good performances, interesting twists, rich mystery and uncertainty on plot, notable characters with a satisfactory delineation, sporadic moments with much gore but also excitement.
Trivial matters, in the end, lack of innovation, extended periods at reduced interest, slow tempo in some episodes, dispersed amerikanies in dialogues and in attitudes of characters.
The series of science fiction/thriller have been frequent choice of major u.s. television networks in recent years. The "Helix" that we are considering here is one of the many series sci–fi/horror thriller with a touch of character who played powerfully in 2014. It was from the usual host of such series, the U.S. Syfy in early 2014. The first cycle consists of 13 episodes, lasting a little less than 40 minutes each.
The case centred on a scientific team of the Center for disease control and prevention (CDC), USA that goes into a scientific biological research station in Antarctica to investigate the spread of a deadly virus. Some of the focal points have been cured but others have become aggressively bloodthirsty creatures, something like a zombie. But scientists are finding that they have caught in a tangle of dangerous events threatens not only those at the station as well as the rest of humanity.
The name of the head scientist of the base is Dr. Hetake. This is a pun on the phrase He take (s). Why would find watching the first round of the series.
The ' Helix ' certainly offers no innovations and original ideas. The themes we have seen on many occasions and in better productions. Nevertheless it is not indifferent since with shocking twists and surprises occurring in the flow of events manages to sustain our interest and makes us want to get to the end of the story. One of the major advantages is the unforeseen role of characters. That is, until the end of the series did not know with certainty for all which side support and what are their real objectives.
On the other hand, the series suffers from several dead spaces with ypoplokes and vapid parapanisioys dialogues while there are typical amerikanies as unnecessary romanza in difficult conditions and the heroisms efetzidikoi. It is good that each episode shows the events of a single day but had to be pressed shortly throttle earlier in some of them. Aside from the suffocating environment of scientific base, and seeing a few developments in the frozen Antarctic environment and breaks the monotony.
The horror elements are found mostly in uninfected by HIV that attack the base personnel as well as some harsh scenes with rich gore. From Billy Campbell distinguished interpretations (Enough, Dracula) and Kyra Zagorsky (The Pastor's Wife) as leading members of the scientific team of CDC and the Japanese Hiroyuki Sanada (Wolverine, 47 Ronin) as the enigmatic head of the Antarctic base.
If you like the series mix science fiction and horror, the first monitoring cycle of the "Helix" logically has something to give you. I do not think that this is one of the top productions of this style. There are movies and series that are doing better.
