Take the stairs, take the stairs. For God's sake, take the Stairs!!!
Original idea, inventively lethal, amazing music.
Many casually points in the scenario, moderate interpretations.
80s, VHS, cult-ila, psychedelic music themes. These are the words that come to mind of writer when mentioned anywhere that the original horror film from the Netherlands. "The Lift" (original title "Lift De") is one of the most catchy movies watched on video Greek clubs in the 1980s and later. The psarwtiko cover with the picturesque Greek title "the elevator of terror" was impossible not to drift to rent the videotape at the earliest opportunity if you were a fan of horror.
Watching the movie again after years of being in a more mature phase of apodomisa a part of the old glamour, but not overwhelming since ' The Lift ' still can provide some thrills. But let's get to the case that is one of the most innovative we've seen in the scene of horror. A modern elevator building becomes cause of accidents, often fatal, and the technician who maintains it takes to solve the problem and to restore in safe mode. And while the "accidents" are continuing the technician arrives to shocking discoveries about technical equipment installed in lethal lift as well as for the company itself.
Sound film highlights are the treacherous ways in which unsuspecting people become victims of the lift. I will never forget, for example, that shocking scene that one man is beheaded by the lift after his head was trapped between the doors. Scenes such as this anthology engraved forever in memory, especially if you see the film in quite a young age like the graphs. The positive will add anyway and the excellent ambient music that gives a futuristic air to film threat and building an atmosphere of uncertainty.
Due to the lack of a stuntman, all actors staged the most daring actions themselves.
Unfortunately many points that do not involve the action of elevator look like just casually and this has negative effects on the film. Wooden interpretations are another problem, fortunately as so long after we know beforehand the kitsch character of ' The Lift ' and know more or less what to expect. Add to that the film's Director Dick Maas, created and an American remake in 2001 entitled "Down" but does not recommend it. All the yeast is in this 1983 film.
If you get nowhere give him a chance. Hardly seems serious in our time but at least it guarantees fun and jazz. Very likely to start using the stairs more often …
