Bad Things Happen For A Reason / Five strangers trapped. One of them is not what they seem.
$63.354.114 (έως 27/12/2012)
Originality, intelligent and creative utilization of the "whodunit" element, interesting characters, plenty of suspenseful, claustrophobic atmosphere.
Glitches in the scenario.
One of the fresh ideas of horror cinema of recent years. The "Devil" based on its history of Director of "the Sixth Sense" and "Afthartoy" M Night Shyamalan. appeared in the early nineties as a shot in the arm for the item by clicking on the our little under-rail smile.
Five people trapped in the elevator of a skyscraper and one of them is the Devil (what you said now!). The ' outside ' see did not appear random but has a definite purpose as recounts one of the security guards obviously watching the dramatic moments inside the elevator from the closed-circuit camera. In case entangled and a detective (Chris Messina) led in the same building investigating a suicide case. Inside the elevator allofrosynis scenes prevail. At times takes on the lights go out, the room is immersed in deep darkness, strange loud sounds are heard and when the light comes back or someone from caged would have been injured or killed. Narrator security guard (Jacob Vargas) are highly religious and convinced that in this case the devil is responsible for the carnage inside the elevator. Go to him but believed the detective who looks realistic, rational solutions for events, believing that the chaos was responsible just a Slayer who is among the trapped.
The "Devil" is the first film of the trilogy "The Night Chronicles" that deals with the supernatural within contemporary urban society. Also within the film implies the number 666 through various tricks and petitions. For example the number of motorway where sits the skyscraper is the 333 i.e 666 by 2. The elevator (with number 6!) stops between floors 23 (2 x 3 = 6) and 42 (4 + 2 = 6), some of the protagonists wanted to go on floors that the sum or give them balance 6ari and so cute and mystical!
We could see the "Devil" as a typical whodunit thriller ntetektibiko character but with metaphysical overtones. Indeed since the 5 people trapped in elevator viewers inevitably engage in fun game mantepsiwn about the identity of the culprit here embodies the same Satan (brrrr!). This alone makes the film highly entertaining while the dramatic scenes inside the elevator enhance the dynamics of the "Devil" producing an intensely claustrophobic atmosphere. The kalogrammenoi of characters fit perfectly with neither too heavy nor entirely lighthearted atmosphere. The security guard's narrative blends well with the rest of the script is proving generally solid although not totally free from defects, cliché or convenient solutions. If these include the fast pace of then talking about a movie waiting ready, warm in our dish to eat up.
Hardly anyone disillusioned by the "Devil". It is fresh, immediate and inspiring horror movie, something like a mini surprise for the audience that seeks out new and different in the scene of horror. Speyste to see it well although many imagine will have already enjoyed.
